Now last week we had one of my favorite crops of the year--its the Members Challenge Us crop.  Yes you read that right--the members of the message boards get to issue the challenges-IT's so fun!  Well one of the challenges put before us was presented by our resident storyteller--Susan.  Her challenge to us was to use three different pieces of fabric.  LUV IT!   So here's what she created as an example for us and then mine is to follow

Hello Ladies and welcome to WEEK 1 of Last Scrapper Standing



Are you ready for your first challenge? Well I am so excited to go first this time. And in honor of the summer season my challenge is all about color. The colors in my kit this month are predominatly RED BLUE & YELLOW which just scream summertime to me. So thats it I want you to create a layout using those colors. That's it-easy peezy. Not a bunch of requirements here becuz I wanna see your creative juices flow girls!

Here's an example I have for you using my Simple Stories Summer Fresh kit

As soon as I saw that tag-Hello my name is- I knew it would be perfect for this photo of us the day my oldest son's adoption was complete. (Yes he is my son-my hubs finally got to adopt him-long long story) I have been hoarding this photo waiting for the perfect pps to inspire me and as soon as I saw this line I knew I finally found it. You gotta get you sum of these girls! OK sorry back to the contest stuff

To sum it up for this week
1) Create a new layout just for our contest using the colors, red blue & yellow

2) load your layout to our gallery and link it back to this thread

3) Must be completed by Wed 6/6 at midnight CST

4) Thursday 6/7 VOTE VOTE VOTE

Let's PArty

So NSD was last weekend but not over at Memorable Seasons.  we are celebrating all week long-YIPEEEE!

We the DT are issuing a challenge a day--thats a total of 6 challenges for the week and the crop ends on Sunday at midnight.  No grumbling now ladies, if you cant find the time to scrap this week we have some games with prizes.  And I am even hosting a show n tell challenge.  See so you dont have to scrap to have sum fun!

dont stop in that category cuz there is also a clearance sale going on too-WHOOP WHOOP my favorite 2 words in the English language. LOL!

So here's the scrappy challenge I issued for the week....

Manufacturer line mixer--I love when I get a new line of paper to dive into my stash from that company and see what older product mixes well with the new stuff. 

So my challenge to you is --create a layout with at least 2 different paper lines from the same manufacturer.

Here's mine, I worked with the NEW MME Miss Caroline Dilly Dally stuff--OHHH my goodness it is soo dang cute.  And it mixes really well with the STella and Rose or the Lost and found lines

New Design Team members search

is holding a Design Team search until Dec 31. A decision will be made by Jan 5.



Memorable Seasons is an on-line scrapbook store, gallery and message board dedicated to documenting all the seasons in your life. We are searching for one more designer to complete our team.

1.links to your online gallery, blog and/or resume, if available

2. your full contact information: name, phone number, email address, and mailing address. Include your message board name if you sign up for the gallery under a name other than your given name.

3. a short paragraph or two about why you want to be one of our designers and what you would add to our team

4. a list of your current scrapbooking commitments – other DT work, etc

5. and then attach the following items



photos or scans of 3 total projects to include

• your favorite layout

• one card

• one altered item or an additional card

We prefer those who are not currently on a design team affiliated with a store. Manufacturer, sketch site or kit clubs with no stores attached are okay. Additional details can be found here.









Design team members will receive a monthly kit sometime after the 10th of the month. You are required to create and share at least 4 projects using mostly the items in your kit on the 1st of each month. One of those 4 projects must be a card. You will also be required to choose a layout of the week, issue a DT challenge and post to the blog on a rotating basis with the other DT members. Other requirements include active participation on the message board, on line crops, occasional happy hour duties, creating a layout based on a monthly sketch and any other promotions that may come up. Term is 6 months with an option to extend by 6 more months and a limit of 1 year. If selected to join our team your initial 6 month term will begin in Feb 2012.

Time to be grateful

So today its my turn to issue a journaling challenge over at Memorable Seasons and here it is

Hello ladies, with Thanksgiving quickly approaching I thought I would make this months journaling challenge quick and simple. Now remember ladies as much as we all love scrapping and creating beautiful designs-its the story or words about the picture that are very important to those that we are leaving the creations for.




So for this months challenge I want you to journal about something or someone you are grateful for.

THAT'S it!



I used my Kit for this month. When I saw the tree and that it was only half of a tree. I decided to use these photos of my Uncle from my mom's side of the family and journal about his & my dads relationship and how strong it still is even though my mom is gone.

Remember you have til 11/30 at midnight to get your creation loaded to the gallery and linked back here to qualify for the monthly drawing. Cant wait to see what you create girls!

Sketchy Thursdays and a sniff sniff

I just love when I see a sketch and RIGHT away I know what I wanna do.  This happens alot for me with the sketches over at Sketchy Thursdays.  While I have been able to play along with them much lately-I am excited that life is slowing down for a bit so I could join in this week.    So here's the sketch

So when I saw it I immediately thought of a layout I have been wanting to do for quite sometime.  And what hooked me was the lil paint splatters in the top right corner.  Why you ask--well I wanted to do a page of my oldest son on his first day of the 8th grade and also a picture of his first day of kindergarten.  Which for me was rough last year when that day came cuz that meant that would be the end of his time at his elementary school  (they go K - 8th grade)  and then would come high school-YIKES-soo not ready for that!  Ok so it was last year but I still totally can feel the emotion I had on that day so I figured better get it scrapped while I can still feel and journal they emotions I felt that day.  Those lil paint splatters to me represent my tears that I keep to myself becuz my boy is growing up.  Thats why they are hidden behind the photo and just peek out a lil bit! 

Now onto the fun stuff-I chose to break out my new goodies-Little Yellow Bicycle's Head of the Class line.  Looove the design of this stuff and the quality-WOWZA!!!  Of course I got it all at a GREAT price becuz I got it at my FAVE scrappy store MEMORABLE SEASONS.    So here's what I came up with
